Workplace
I work at a local retail store and I have noticed something that is very interesting to me. Women seem to have it a little easier than man and also seem to be more trusted. There are very few men that work in this store but it seems that every time that there is a physical task or someone needs help to their car a man is asked to do it. I understand why but it seems that women are abusing the fact that men are "supposed" to do these tasks. This goes back to the readings in the fact that women enjoy this because they are women and have it easier in this sense just because of gender. Also, when I work in female departments I as a man am not allowed to check the female fitting rooms, but when women work in the mens department there is no rule against them checking the male fitting rooms. It seems that there is some sort of double standard. Men are not trusted to go into womens fitting rooms but women are allowed in the same situation with men. This just seemed strange to me.
